Day 6 – All-Natural Beauty Enhancers

Mama always told you to eat your fruits and vegetables. Well she was right! Most fruits, vegetables, and even certain meats are not only good for our bodies, they’re also great for our skin!

Here are some vitamins and anti-oxidants can improve the look and quality of your skin:

1. Vitamins C and E – Start Juicing!

These vitamins can help protect you against sun damage. You can incorporate some these foods in your diet to increase your vitamin C and E intake or simply buy the supplements when you go grocery shopping.

2.  Selenium – For Younger Looking Skin

May reverse discoloration and wrinkles that is associated with aging. Antioxidant that actually speeds up your natural skin repair system in order to give you healthier looking skin! Selenium can be found in canned tuna, whole wheat bread, Brazil nuts, mushrooms, and even chicken breast. Here are some other ways to get your Selenium fix:

3. Coenzyme of CoQ10 – The Cancer Fighter

CoQ10 helps with cell growth and can actually protect us from cancer and cancer cells! Enough said!

4. Alpha-lipoic Acid – Soft, Silky, Smooth Skin

This may sound like it would damage your skin. But when applied as a cream or moisturizer, this antioxidant helps improve the look and feel of your skin.

5. Retinoic Acid – Feel Free to Sunbathe!

The active form of Vitamin A. Similar to vitamins C and E, A treats age spots, wrinkles, rough skin, and can repair damaged skin from too much sun exposure. Available as a cream, but when applied too much or too often can cause itchiness, dryness, and redness.

Like anything, these antioxidants that come in the form of topical creams should be used in moderation and according to the directions. I personally prefer to take oral supplements. I am also a fan of any natural food source that contains the same active ingredients as the pills and creams. But the choice is yours!
