Day 23 – 12 Simple Ways to Look Good Without Makeup

#BeTrueToYou 157-day no makeup challenge #Day23

For those of you are doing this challenge with me, I know it’s been a struggle. But you can do, stay motivated.

Here are 12 great ways to look beautiful without makeup. I love of them all!

1. Wash Your Face Twice a Day

Find a good facial wash that’s suited to your skin type and use it twice a day – once in the morning and once at night.

  • Note: Over-washing can make your skin dry and irritable.

2. Moisturize

Every time you wash your face, you should use a quality facial moisturizer to replenish your skin.

  • Tip: If you have sensitive skin, select a moisturizer that is especially for sensitive skin. If you are prone to pimples, try something light without a lot of oils. Drier skin types should go for heavier moisturizers with shea butter or aloe vera.

3. Exfoliate on a Weekly Basis

Exfoliation removes dead skin cells and leaves your face feeling soft and smooth. Find a skin wash with special exfoliating particles which you can use at least once a week but not more than 2 or 3 times a week.

4. Wear Sunscreen

Sun damage causes your skin to age prematurely, and can also lead to skin cancer. To combat this, wear sunscreen that is SPF 30 or higher.

Tip: There are plenty of sunscreens out there which act as a moisturizer as well.

5. DON’T TOUCH YOUR FACE!

Picking at spots, rubbing your forehead, or simply resting your chin on your hand are all things which add oil and bacteria to the skin, causing it to break out and look greasy.

6. Get Your Rest and Drink Lots of Water

Be sure to get at least 8 hours of sleep per night. Also, drink at least 5-8 glasses of water DAILY. Sleep gives your skin a chance to repair and restore itself. Drinking water hydrates the skin and flushes out harmful toxins.

7. Eat Right not Less

Load up on the fruits and vegetables to have your body feeling good, gain more energy, and leave your skin looking healthy.

Tip: Try to cut out as many greasy, fatty, sugary foods as possible and load up on fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean meats instead.Vitamin supplements are great as well!

8. Take Care of Your Lips

Smooth, full lips are much more attractive than dry, cracked ones, so make sure to look after yours using a combination of exfoliation and moisturization. Use Chapstick and lip balm with SPF to help protect it from the sun’s harsh rays.

9. Brush Your Teeth

Seems obvious but the important of dental care is often underestimated. A white, healthy smile can work wonders for your overall appearance, so make sure you give your teeth the care and attention they deserve. Brushing twice a daily, flossing at least once a day, and using mouthwash helps fight bacteria and keep your smile beautiful. Also protects from bad breath.

10. SMILE!

Show off those pearly whites! Smiling brightens up your face and allows your inner beauty to shine through. Smiling more often will help you to look your best, regardless of whether you’re wearing make-up or not.

11. Dress Up and Show Off

You look your best when you feel your best. Wear clothes that make you feel good. Whether you like to dress comfortably or like to style it up with the stilettos. Wear what makes YOU happy.

12. Be CONFIDENT.

I can’t stress this enough! By following this list, it will help you be more confident in you. True beauty comes from within. You don’t need lip gloss or eye shadow to stand out. Beauty is a state of mind, and comes from knowing that you got it. Flaunt it, girl!
