Yes, that’s me as a baby.
#BeTrueToYou 157-day no makeup challenge #Day31
Since we came into this world without it, why do we feel we need it as adults or even as teenagers?
Is it from our own personal insecurities or has media and society convinced us that it’s necessary to validate of our self-worth?
Beauty shouldn’t come at a price. But unfortunately, it does. And a very steep one depending on who you are. Millions of dollars are spent on plastic surgery each year. We starve ourselves going on these crazy diets where we can only eat 500 calories a day. We spend hundreds every week at the hair salon and nail salon getting primped and polished. We wear uncomfortable and expensive shoes that give us blisters, corns, and bunions on our feet. We are willing to let professionals pour hot wax on our bodies to rip the hair out. We tweeze, we trim, we shave. Yet it never seems to satisfy us. The vast majority of women who get these things done would probably say it’s worth it because it leaves them feeling beautiful, confident, and like a woman.
But if you don’t get waxed or wear high heels, does it make you less of a woman? Absolutely not. I have news for you. If you have two X chromosones, you’re a woman! God just designed it that way. But what makes you beautiful is how you see yourself. It’s that simple.
